I’m taking an amazing Alchemy certification course through Eva Dub. A recent homework assignment was to choose an author or musician who wrote about alchemy (whether they realized it or not!) I chose the song Spirit Bird by Xavier Rudd.
To me, the song is universal; it doesn’t have to relate just to indigenous people. It symbolizes those who want to live more in tune with nature versus the unnatural, materialistic, enslaved, AI kind of world. I know we’ve done this fall and awakening before many times throughout the galaxies. I feel I’m one of many trailblazer souls that help usher in the esoteric mysteries/truths on planets. We get the truths anchored in through many incarnations and various beliefs (i.e., Ancient Egyptian, Essenes, Cathars, Druidism, etc.). Then we see it all slowly get infiltrated, watch the fall, watch the slow awakening, then lather, rinse, repeat.
I get emotional every time I hear this song. It’s just so timeless and spiritual to me. It’s about feeling so lonely and displaced; something just isn’t quite right when we turn from nature. There’s so much loss and death – a slow death of the soul – when this happens. But there’s always a glimmer of hope, and this song offers that hope. It shows that people aren’t alone in feeling this way, and that we’ve seen it all before. It will turn out all right in the end because we will return to innocence again, but an enlightened innocence that is strengthened with having incorporated the shadow side.
Here are the lyrics. I’ve made some comments in brackets.
Spirit Bird
We give it time, and we wonder why, do what we can, laugh, and we cry.
And we sleep in your dust because we’ve seen this all before.
[A type of resignation. Here we go again].
Culture fades with tears and grace,
[Grace for some, although it could be seen as resignation. But it’s the elders letting people choose].
Leaving us stunned, hollow with shame.
[Stunned and shamed felt by some, but most only subconsciously feel it. The elders might feel a bit of both due to wondering why people can’t see the obvious. But people need to learn the hard way, apparently].
We have seen this all, seen this all before.
Many tribes of a modern kind, doing brand new work, same spirit by side,
[The same spirit lives within us, no matter if we’re living with nature, or opposed to it].
Joining hearts and hands in ancestral twine, ancestral twine.
[The ancestral/nature cord/twine still runs through us and connects us].
Many tribes of a modern kind, doing brand new work, same spirit by side,
Joining hearts and hands in ancestral twine, ancestral twine.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly we fade.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly we fade.
[Slowly, our ties to spirit and nature fades, and in so doing, we fade from our divine essence].
Spirit bird, she creaks and groans
She knows she has seen this all before.
She has seen this all before, she has.
Spirit bird, she creaks and groans
She knows she has seen this all before
She has seen this all before, she has.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly we fade.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly it fades.
Soldier on; soldier on, my good countrymen.
Keep fighting for your culture now, keep fighting for your land.
[People slowly start to awaken when they see how controlling the “authorities” have become and how far we have strayed from our true nature].
I know it’s been thousands of years, and I feel your hurt.
And I know it’s wrong, and you feel
You’ve been chained and broken and burned.
And those beautiful old people, those wise old souls,
Have been ground down for far too long
By that spineless man, that greedy man, that heartless man,
Deceiving man, that government hand taking blood and land
Taking blood and land, and still they can.
But your dreaming, and your warrior spirit lives on and it is so, so, so strong
In the earth, in the trees, in the rocks
In the water, in your blood, and in the air we breathe.
[Spirit has been there all along; our connection to nature has been there all along. As a society, we turned our backs on it, but now it’s time to awaken the spiritual/nature/natural warrior within].
Soldier on; soldier on, my good countrymen.
Keep fighting for your children now, keep fighting for your land.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly it fades.
Slowly it fades.
[The “it” has now moved from meaning our connection to nature to the infiltration/parasitic class. Slowly the infiltration fades, slowly it fades. We are no longer fading away when we are reconnecting to nature/the divine].
We give it time, and we wonder why.
Do what we can, laugh, and we cry.
And we sleep in your dust because we’ve seen this all before.
[And we come full circle. We wonder how people can be so willfully ignorant. We do what we can to warn them. We live, laugh, and cry, and we sleep on the earth, living close to nature, knowing that on another planet, this will happen again. And maybe we’ll be part of the awakening again…because we’ve seen this all before].
